Warm liquid honey with a touch of whiskey voice, Elaine Lakeman delivers sultry and seductive vocals that will keep you coming back for more.

All the songs on the cd are easy listening and will be appreciated by anyone who enjoys music. Loved Elaine’s CD and highly recommend it, great to share with loved ones.

Elaine has a lovely voice and brings emotion and her own authenticity to each of the songs on her new cd. My personal favorite is Can We Still Be Friends. Highly recommend this cd.

Elaine has a lovely, dreamy, passionate voice, that makes you want to keep listening ! I can’t wait to have the chance to see her perform live one day !

We caught the Elaine Lakeman Trio recently at Vista 18 in Victoria, and thoroughly enjoyed the evening! The trio has a real talent for breathing elegant new life into the classic jazz standards, and Elaine’s voice is beautiful! The ensemble, which also features well known jazz guitarist Lloyd English, really lit up the room. If you like Holly Cole, check out the Elaine Lakeman   Heather Pringle

I’ve been listening to Elaine sing her sultry songs a lot this past year. She has a voice like warm honey mixed in fine whisky, and a delivery that is delicious! Jazzy blues, a little Patsy, and a whole lot of Elaine style. When she pairs up with the English guitar men (Lloyd and Myles) and a big bass player (instrument, not the player!), it makes for a complete show. Whether she’s singing in a high class lounge or a cozy coffee emporium, she makes the audience feel like its just them and her, outside world is gone. I love her disc – When it Rains – for setting the background at home, or for make a road trip more interesting. Really looking forward to hearing some new , original material in the new future from this late blooming songstress.   Carmen Dennis

I went to Vista 18 to listen to my friend sing with Lloyd English and James Young on guitar and double bass respectively and what a treat it was. It had been a long time since I had heard Elaine sing, but if possible, her voice was even better now with that hint of huskiness and passion sounding through. She performed a varied number of songs, some old favorites, some unknown to me, some sad and some uplifting, but all performed with feeling and passion. What a wonderful evening in a lovely locale, I’m definitely coming back. Marvelous!   Bente Bunting
